Social Security Savior Unveils Plan to Banish Overpayment ‘Clawbacks’

To fix issues caused by overpayments, the Social Security Administration has announced a new plan. No longer will they take away all of a beneficiary's payment if they don't respond promptly to a notice. They will no longer require beneficiaries to prove they were not at fault for overpayment, will extend repayment plans to 60 months, and make it easier to request a waiver if someone cannot afford the repayment.
