A little-noticed inflation report in the past could get a lot of market attention on Thursday
- SUMMARY
The Commerce Department will release its report on inflation, known as the personal consumption expenditures (PCE) index, for January.
Economists expect a 0.3% increase from December and a 2.4% increase over the past year.
This inflation measurement is closely followed by the Federal Reserve.
If the Fed maintains its strict economic policies to combat inflation, economist Mark Zandi warns it could harm economic growth.
